Inventory

Working on a small journal to keep track of all my stamps and ink, this is what I have done so far.  I just used regular file folders.  Sprayed them with Dylusions spray and used some stamps on the front of it.  Printed off the color swatch thing from Ranger Ink and glued them inside.  I found some game pieces of Tim Holtz on sale so I added one of those to the cover also.  Im using this to keep track of all my products while im getting them all.
I used a Qtip to color all the inks onn the page. Super easy to use then doing it with the actual applicators.
Im planning on painting over the colors that are already on the crackle paints and ill highlight them so that i know that ive already gotten them.
I hope this helps anyone who needs to keep track of their buying.  It was simple to make and I hope you make one too.  If i had a Zutter Bind it all, I would have made an actual notebook and I will probably do that in the future when I need to expand this one.  But for now its working lovely and I enjoy taking it with me.

Art journal page 2

This a easy journal page I did about the poor elementary children that were shot last week, I had to get my thoughts out on paper, I don't know how to feel about it.  Another basic page, some stained paper, and old receipt and paint

First journal page

Things that I love,  I only used dylusions ink spray, Black acrylic paint, black Copic marker and silver sharpie and elmers silver glue pen, easy peasy I say, I love the way it looks and it's a reminder of who I am

To New Happenings

Ive been back and forth on whether I wanted to make a blog about my art journaling, I honestly do.  Ill try to post as much as possible, probably once or twice a week since ill be able to do this from my phone.  Ive done art journals off and on for the past couple years.  I recently started doing it again and Ive realized that it has helped me let out my emotions and thoughts.  I'm pretty much a beginner, I do have some things to use in my journal already.  So if you don't have any products yet, I would go get a journal, Moleskin Large Sketch Journal is what a lot of people use (ill be buying myself one of those, once im done with my current journal) or a Visual Journal by Strathmore (which is what im using, I have the 140lb pressed one because its a little more sturdier then the 90lb one).  Paint in colors you like (i use the cheap acrylic paint thats about 75 cents a peice) Paint brushes, I also use cheap ones and i have a couple more expensive ones but i would start out with cheap ones, until you know that your going to continue on this journey.  Random peices of paper, magazines, news papers, old notes and cards, wrapers from candy bar, and some scrapbook paper.  Some watercolor pencils or crayons.  You can also buy ink sprays and stencils (i just recently bought some of those).

So i hope you follow along with me, im learning to open myself up to creativity again and im hoping that by blogging about it ill continue to do it and allow myself to be ME again

PS- Just wanted to quickly add this, There will be mixed media pieces, tags, atcs,  and canvas at some point, right now im trying to stick with my journal till i feel comfortable adventuring into that, the soonest will be April probably cause i want to make my mom a mixed media bird house :)
